The 2012 Robotics Rodeo is scheduled for June 20-29, 2012 at the Maneuver Battle Lab at Fort Benning, GA.
The Robotics Rodeo is an opportunity for scientists and engineers from government and industry to demonstrate new and innovative unmanned ground systems to the U.S. Army user and research and development communities. The opportunity for industry members to interact with experienced Soldiers and demonstrate their technologies to these end-users has proven to be incredibly valuable.
The Robotics Rodeo is not a competition or sole source justification but, rather, a market research event to see whether new technologies could potentially benefit Army robotics programs. Soldiers see the new technologies, ask questions and provide honest feedback to the industry representatives.
This event has three opportunities for demonstration: Operational Vignettes, Technical Challenges and at the Extravaganza. All participants must register prior to the event. Each of the demonstration opportunities require applicants to submit preliminary technology proposals which meet specific requirements. Participation in the Vignettes and Challenges are closed to the public, whereas the Extravaganza participation is open to the public. Applicants will be notified as soon as their proposals are qualified and accepted; once accepted, applicants will be required to complete the registration process. All approved proposals for the Vignettes and Challenges will automatically be invited to participate in the Extravaganza.

Vignettes and Challenges
The Operational Vignettes and Technical Challenges provide multi-phased, continuous processes designed to improve robotics capabilities with the help of industry and academia. These private events provide opportunities to demonstrate technology to government stakeholders who seek to identify and leverage industry investments in advanced technologies. Through these requirement-designed Vignettes and Challenges, industry and academia have unique opportunities to demonstrate component technologies and gain recognition and visibility in the robotics field. The event serves as a central focus for Army senior leaders, original equipment manufacturers and industry partners.
Participation Proposal submission for both the Vignettes and Challenges is closed.
The Extravaganza
The Extravaganza provides a single point of contact for networking opportunities among Soldiers and industry and government representatives. It is also an opportunity to discuss robotics with key government decision makers, visit vendor booths and view freestyle demonstrations of the technologies represented during the Vignettes and Challenges.
Participation Proposal submission for Extravaganza is closed.
All U.S. citizens are welcome to attend the Robotics Rodeo Extravaganza free of charge pending completion of the visitor forms.
