Industry Day for the 2012 Robotics Rodeo — Sep. 26, 2012. Click here for the slides
The Robotics Rodeo is an opportunity for scientists and engineers from government
and industry to demonstrate new and innovative unmanned ground systems to the U.S.
Army user and research and development (R&D) communities. This opportunity for industry
to interact with experienced Soldiers and demonstrate their technologies to these end-users
has proven incredibly valuable.
The Robotics Rodeo is not a competition or sole source justification but rather a market
research event to see whether new technologies could potentially benefit Army robotics programs.
Soldiers see the new technologies, ask questions and provide honest feedback to the industry
representatives.
This event has two opportunities for demonstration: the Extravaganza and the Robotic Technology
Observation, Demonstration and Discussion (RTOD2). Participation in the Extravaganza is open to
the public, but all participants must register prior to the event. RTOD2 is closed to the public
and eligible participants are required to submit an application to the selection committee. If the
application is accepted, the vendor will be invited to demonstrate at RTOD2 and the Extravaganza.
The 2012 Robotics Rodeo is scheduled for May 14-17, 2012 at the Maneuver Battle Lab at Fort Benning, GA.
Please check the website frequently for updated information about the 2012 Robotics Rodeo.
The Extravaganza
The Extravaganza provides a single point of contact for networking opportunities among Soldiers,
industry and government representatives. It is also an opportunity to discuss robotics with key
government decision makers, visit vendor exhibits and view freestyle demonstrations of a variety
of robotic capabilities.
RTOD2
RTOD2 is a multiphase, continuous process designed to improve robotics capabilities with the
help of industry. It is an opportunity to demonstrate technology to government stakeholders who are
seeking to identify and leverage industry investments in advanced technologies.
Through RTOD2, industry has the unique opportunity to demonstrate component technologies and
gain recognition and visibility in the robotics field. The event serves as a central focus for
Army senior leaders, original equipment manufacturers and industry partners. All demonstrating
technologies must be at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6 or higher. They must be completed or
qualified through testing and demonstration, and not in the R&D phases.
All U.S. citizens are welcome to attend the Robotics Rodeo Extravaganza free of charge pending completion
of the visitors form. Forms can be submitted via e-mail to DAMI_RoboticsRodeo@conus.army.mil
in PDF format with "VF [Your
Name] [Organization]" in the subject line.
